Nicole Sturla

Nicole Sturla is a Registered Architect in Pennsylvania and holds a Master of Architecture degree from University of Kansas. Prior to joining Fredrick & Emily's in 2006, Nicole was employed by architects in Lancaster city and later practiced architecture on her own for 16 years. Finding that it was time for a change, Nicole began looking for something else. Although never having thought much about interior design for churches, Nicole responded to an advertisement for a project manager at Fredrick & Emily's Church Renovations. During a whirlwind interview, both parties realized that here was an opportunity for something greater and the position of Senior Designer was born.

Nicole particularly enjoys churches for their architecture and art. She has traveled to Europe, Iceland, and throughout the United States during her life and looks forward to continuing this habit. Visiting churches, synagogues, temples, and chapels of note to study their architecture and to admire the artworks within is always part of these trips. As a result, Nicole has a vast internal library of images and a sense of history to call upon when designing church interiors for F&E. She has also assembled an actual, extensive, design library that has expanded the staff's capabilities at F&E. Nicole's personal skill in working with colors and textures and her interest in lighting fixtures are put to good use while working with F&E customers.

Nicole finds it exciting to be part of a nationally-known company in the niche business of church interior renovation. The variety of the church buildings themselves, the ways different congregations work to improve their house of worship, and the individuals involved keeps life interesting at F&E. No project is ever the same as any other. This makes teamwork a crucial factor in F&E's ability to provide quality services to church customers consistently within budget and on time. Nicole's goal is to remain a part of this great team for a long time.
