Joshua Hummel

Sound Designer - Fredrick & Emily's Church Renovations

Joshua Hummel is a Sound Designer from York, Pa. The son of a pastor, he understands the challenges of churches. At an early age, Josh declared his commitment to the church and his passion for sound. Currently he serves as Technical Director for his church in York, Pa. Leading a staff of ten volunteers, he guides a media team in design and implementation of sound, lighting, video, and scenic designs for worship. Joshua also creates pictorial tributes for funerals and weddings, designs lighting for worship and special events, produces video presentations, and prepares graphics for traditional and contemporary worship.

Joshua says, "I am most satisfied when I have created meaningful artistic support for worship which draws people into an experience that climaxes in God's glory and their inspiration."

The Pennsylvania State University College of Arts and Architecture offered Joshua one of its two competitive admissions for Sound Design. While at Penn State, Joshua received the Mabel Reed Knight Scholarship for distinguished performance in technical theatre. He is a member of The United States Institute for Theatre Technology. Joshua can assist with basic audio requirements, or utilize the most advanced digital sound and video technology to meet your needs.

In his leisure time, Josh enjoys being with his family at their cottage in the Central Pennsylvania mountains.
